We are delighted to announce that our exciting series of World Trade Summits will continue with a milestone event in Northern Ireland on June 13.

Entitled ‘Landscape Post Brexit’, it will feature an impressive line-up of international trade experts, including keynote speaker, Lord Empey OBE, a former Lord Mayor of Belfast and Minister of Enterprise, Trade and Investment in the Northern Ireland assembly.

Aimed at businesses in Northern Ireland that are looking to expand overseas or already working in international trade, the Summit, hosted by Belfast Business School at Belfast Metropolitan College, will examine the issues and opportunities in accessing new territories following the Brexit vote.

It will focus on ‘Where next?’ and will define the routes to new markets and relevant technological advances to improve and enhance trading relationships.

As with highly successful Summits in the West Country and London last year, the vibrant conference will bring top exporting minds from heavyweight organisations together on the same platform.

They include Stephen Kelly, chief executive of Manufacturing NI; Elizabeth McCrory MIEx (Grad), export finance manager, UK Export Finance; and Brian Telford, head of markets at Danske Bank.

Alan Lowry, CEO of Environmental Street Furniture Ltd will be speaking about his experiences of trading with overseas markets. In addition, Sandra Scannell, Head of Business Services at NI Chamber, will give an overview of the region’s exports and detail the organisation’s support services.

The event will run from 8.30am – 12pm and will be followed by a light lunch and valuable networking opportunities.

Institute of Export & International Trade director general, Lesley Batchelor OBE, said: “The Summit is part of our continuous work with Belfast Business School at Belfast Metropolitan College to raise the skills of those involved in international trade in Northern Ireland by engaging with the business community and government there.”

The event is free for IOE&IT members and £30 + VAT for non-members. You can register for your tickets here.
