The opportunities for UK trade in a post-Brexit world will be a core theme of an address by Terry Scuoler CBE to the Council of Foreign Chambers of Commerce (CFCC) on 21 September.
At a webinar entitled ‘In Conversation with Terry Scuoler CBE’, the chairman of the Institute of Export & International Trade will blend upbeat forecasts of trade opportunities for the UK with warnings of growing protectionism by the world’s two economic superpowers, the US and China.
The webinar, which is free to attend but requires pre-registration, is being organised by the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the CFCC.
The CFCC is an umbrella organisation for foreign chambers of commerce operating in the UK, with a mission to promote members’ collective interests in multilateral cooperation, in trade and investment and provide united representation.
Africa and Asia
The IOE&IT chairman will outline how developing countries and new markets in Africa and Asia “offer opportunities for significant increases in mutually beneficial trade”.
At the same time, he will highlight the role of nearly 70 post-EU trade agreements in offering the UK the chance to better tailor its trade in goods and services in line with its industrial and wider economic strategies.
‘Huge potential force’
“The CFCC, with its 35 member national Chambers, plays a key role in facilitating this huge potential force for good and it is a pleasure to support it,” Scuoler said.
