The Institute of Export’s Director General Lesley Batchelor is among a dynamic line up of speakers from Government departments and private and public sector organisations worldwide who will share their expertise and insights at the three day event which spans 12-14 September 2012.
Hosted by Marketing Institute and Enterprise Estonia and supported by the European Social Fund, the best practice and learning forum will harness the theme of global collaboration and examine new trends in global trade.
Achieving results with global teams in different time-zones, adjusting training and development initiatives to new requirements – and looking at the boundaries of virtual learning are among the key issues being explored.
The first day entitled ‘Global Trends’ will focus on themes including how to export e-government, corporate sustainability and social responsibility, how traders can make a difference along with new insights in virtual learning.
Developing Global Teams and Global Skills is the focus of the second day of the conference when Lesley Batchelor will share her insights into the IOE’s experience in harnessing the power of the internet to facilitate education programmes online for a truly global learning experience.
Also on the agenda that day are the challenges and benefits of managing global teams at Skype, virtual learning projects via video conferences and trade finance training in emerging markets. Lesley will also join the panellists for a discussion on virtual learning in trade training.
Speakers on the final day’s theme ‘Inspiring Trade Globally’ will outline how to do business with China, India, Russia, Brazil, Chile. It will examine if South Africa is a springboard for conducting business in Africa – and if foreign companies can compete successfully in the USA.
