Members of the Institute of Export & International Trade (IOE&IT) are being invited to apply to join the charity’s membership committee, which gives them the opportunity to influence its direction and strategy, as well as the future of international trade more broadly.
The committee has the stated purpose of “providing guidance and representing the interests of our members while offering valuable feedback and insight into IOE&IT member services and activities”.
Members have until 31 May to apply to join, with successful applicants to receive complimentary tickets to IOE&IT events.
Shape an ‘exciting new era’ for trade
IOE&IT director general Marco Forgione says the committee will have an “extremely important role” in shaping the future direction of the charity.
“IOE&IT has achieved remarkable growth in recent years because of the ingenuity and success of you, our members. It is through your feedback and expertise that we are able to deliver services and initiatives that empower you to trade overseas.
“This is an exciting moment at IOE&IT, as we approach our 90th anniversary having recently been granted a Royal Charter. I would encourage you to join this committee so that you can continue to shape and influence this exciting new era for IOE&IT and international trade.”
Members’ voice
The committee, which will meet quarterly, will review IOE&IT’s membership strategy and wider suite of services to ensure they align with members’ needs and priorities, as well as those of the wider trader community.
It will consist of between six and 12 individuals from across a wide range of membership types and industries.
“Membership appointments shall be based on expertise, commitment and alignment with the organisation's mission,” the advert says.
31 May deadline
The deadline to apply for the committee is 31 May, with appointments to be confirmed on the week commencing 10 June.
Following the new appointments, the new committee members will meet for the first time for a ‘welcome and induction’ at IOE&IT’s annual membership conference – MemberCon24 – in Leeds.
