The unique Certified International Trade Advisor (CITA) qualification – accredited by the Institute of Export as an Ofqual Awarding Organisation – has been upgraded and improved with a new user-friendly interface.
Presented exclusively by the IOE, the qualification in international trade independently assesses, improves and verifies the level of international trade expertise and competence of those dealing directly or indirectly with clients trading globally.
Originally launched in 2006 and supported by Barclays, RBS and HSBC, course content will continue to deliver the same up-to-date information – with the added bonus of being tablet and smart-phone friendly thanks to the latest technology.
Following valuable feedback from banks, who continue to be major users of the course, new features of the on-line platform, upgraded by Elmsleigh Learning & Development, include an “Ask CITA” Search Engine and a timer.
The online modular course comprises a programme of flexible learning that enables users to progress at their own pace. Those currently undertaking the course can opt to move onto the new platform, or complete their qualification on the original platform.

Those undertaking the CITA course will automatically become affiliate members of the IOE – opening up access to a wide range of learning resources and up-to-date expert knowledge of international trade. On completion, they will have the opportunity to further enhance their knowledge by taking one of the IOE’s advanced qualifications and by following IOE Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme.
