A new set piece event for the international trade industry will bring together senior figures from across business, government and academia to discuss how trade can propel future economic growth in the UK.
The inaugural Import-Export Show will be held in London on 15 November 2023 and hosted by ITV Lunchtime News presenter Nina Hossain.
The strapline for the event, which is being run by the Institute of Export & International Trade (IOE&IT), is: ‘Local to global: From a trade-led recovery to a more resilient Britain’.
Key themes
Key themes being addressed at the event include:
- How government and industry can work together to boost UK trade
- How successful exporters have thrived during challenging times
- Practical tips on how to grow sales on e-commerce platforms
- The changing role of trade finance in helping businesses to export
- How digitalisation makes trade easier and more sustainable for businesses
A panel of leading trade policy experts will also be addressing the ‘UK’s place in a changing global trade world’ – including David Henig, director of UK trade policy at the European Centre for International Political Economy, Professor Clair Gammage, the head of the law school at the University of Exeter, Sam Flint, director of Flint Global, and David Beer, CEO of TradeMark Africa.

“It’s going to be a great day of conversations, discussions and workshops. And there’ll be great potential for networking with a range of businesses.”
