Traders have been reminded that they have just under a week to share their views about the practicalities of the UK’s move to net zero.
Chris Skidmore MP invited businesses to provide evidence on the government’s approach to reducing UK carbon emissions as part of the independent ‘Net Zero Review’ he is chairing.

Skidmore has been asked to lead the review by Jacob Rees-Mogg, the head of the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy under outgoing prime minister Liz Truss.
As part of the review, he is liaising with key stakeholders including “investors, industry and experts in different fields” and will include roundtables and direct meetings.
The review is due to close on 27 October at 11.45pm.
COP27
The consultation comes in the lead up to COP27, which is due to start on 6 November.
Ahead of COP27 Institute of Export & International Trade (IOE&IT) has produced a net zero special edition of the IOE&IT Daily Update, which includes:

Trade’s role
Marco Forgione, director general of the Institute of Export & International Trade, has urged traders to share their views about the move to net zero and what government needs to be doing to achieve this.
“The IOE&IT acts an interlocutor between government and international trade community, so we call on our members and the wider community to get in touch with their views about what they want to see from the move to net zero.
“As evidenced by this week’s special edition of the IOE&IT Daily Update, international trade will be at the forefront of the transition.
“Accurate and clean data collection is also fundamental to ESG reporting, so the digitalisation of trade processes will be a key enabler for businesses to get better visibility and information from across their supply chains.”
