Jade Littlewood

This week the Chartered Institute of Export & International Trade are holding two Special Interest Groups (SIGs), with industry experts and businesses from both the manufacturing and borders, port and logistics communities gathering online.

Membership community lead Jade Littlewood shares how attendance can enrich your trade knowledge, while also providing useful resources and insights specific to your firm’s sector.

We also have a preview of our second Welsh Member Forum, due to be held in February.

Exploring SIG benefits

In today's interconnected world, navigating the complexities of international trade can be a daunting task for businesses and their supply chain partners.

Our Special Interest Groups (SIGs) provide a unique opportunity for professionals engaged in global trade to access valuable resources and guidance tailored to their specific needs.

The next sessions taking place in February, include:

  • Export Controls Special Interest Group (25 February)
  • Food & Retail Special Interest Group (25 February)
  • Modernising Customs (26 February)

Our SIGs

Our SIGS offer:

  • Expert-led virtual meetings: You can engage in insightful sessions led by subject matter experts from the Chartered Institute. These virtual meetings foster collaboration among industry peers and provide a platform for learning and discussion on relevant topics
  • Professional support and best practices: Members can share their experiences and gain access to practical advice and valuable insights. Our SIGs offer a supportive environment to explore industry challenges and opportunities
  • Networking opportunities: Members can connect with fellow professionals, build strong relationships and expand their industry networks.
  • Influence and feedback: Your voice matters. SIGs give you the opportunity to feedback directly to the Chartered Institute’s leadership team, enabling you to contribute to our feedback to government, shaping future initiatives impacting the industry

Wales Member Forum

Another opportunity to forge a wider industry network and gain specialised insight is the second Welsh Member Forum taking place in two weeks’ time (11 February).

Giving Welsh members the opportunity to connect, collaborate and grow as professionals, the sessions also includes facilitated discussion about the challenges and opportunities specific to the region.

As part of our Devolved Nation Forums initiative, we gather a variety of stakeholders. In addition to businesses from the region, the previous session was attended by academics and representatives from government and local ports.

For your opportunity to participate, you can sign up here. The session will take place online and be held at 12:30.
