The government has issued a short notice to traders, noting a “temporary” issue for some adding declarations to Goods Movement References (GMRs).

In an email from the Joint Customs Consultative Committee (JCCC), it’s noted that “there were intermittent system issues” that prevented some updates being sent from the Customs Declaration Service (CDS) to the Goods Vehicle Movement Service (GVMS) between 9am on Tuesday 12 November and 6am on Wednesday 13 November.

This, the notice adds, led to the status of some declarations being different in GVMS compared to CDS.

“If you cannot complete the addition of a declaration to a GMR and that declaration was created or updated in CDS between Tuesday 12/11/24 09:00 and Wednesday 13/11/24 06:00 please remove that declaration from the GMR and replace it with a new declaration.”

Traders can check the availability of GVMS for any future disruptions here.
